What Payment Can You Choose?

HIPAA Journal settlement coverage puts Cash Payment A at up to $5,000 per person for documented, unreimbursed out-of-pocket losses in its settlement breakdown. You must provide documentation and proof linking the loss to the incident. HIPAA Journal describes Cash Payment B as the no-documentation alternative.

It pays an estimated $25, subject to caps and pro rata adjustment. CPT Group says all class members may also enroll in two years of single-bureau credit monitoring. The enrollment includes $1,000,000 in identity-theft insurance and uses the code from the notice.

How Do You File?

Have your notice nearby before you start. You will need the CPT ID and passcode printed on it for online filing.

What Dates Control Your Rights?

Claims must be submitted by December 7, 2026. Opt-outs and objections are due November 7, 2026. The final fairness hearing is January 27, 2027 at 1:30 p.m.
