GoodRx $32 Million Data Privacy Settlement: Who Can File a Claim?

You can file a claim if you were located in the United States and used any website, app, or service made available by or through GoodRx Holdings Inc. before April 20, 2024. That group, called the settlement class, covers GoodRx Gold, HeyDoctor, and GoodRx Care users, according to OpenClassActions in its updated settlement guide. GoodRx Holdings Inc. and Criteo Corp. agreed to create a $32,000,000 fund to resolve consolidated privacy litigation, Doe et al.

v. GoodRx Holdings, No. 4:23-cv-00501-AMO. The case is in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Both companies deny wrongdoing and settled to avoid continued litigation costs.

What the case was about

Plaintiffs alleged GoodRx used website tracking tools to share personal and health-related information with third-party advertisers without consent. The recipients named in the allegations included Criteo, Meta, and Google. The conduct at issue covered at least 2017 to 2020, according to the HIPAA Journal in its late-October settlement report.

GoodRx and Criteo deny the allegations and deny violating any law. The settlement is not a court finding of wrongdoing. It resolves disputed claims so both sides avoid trial risk and expense.

Who is included and who is not

The cutoff is use before April 20, 2024. Location matters as much as use. You must have been located in the United States when you used the covered service.

Covered use is broad. It includes the main GoodRx website and app, plus services offered through GoodRx Gold, HeyDoctor, and GoodRx Care. Use after the cutoff does not qualify.

Court status and payment timing

Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín granted preliminary approval on Sept. 8, 2026. That step allowed notice and claim collection to begin. A final approval hearing is set for Feb. 11, 2027 at 11 a.m.

in Oakland, according to OpenClassActions in its case-status update. No payment date was set as of Oct. 23, 2026. Payments can occur only after final approval and resolution of any appeals or administrative steps. Expect a wait after filing.

How to file by Dec. 29, 2026

Valid claims must be filed by Dec. 29, 2026. Online claims are due at goodrxprivacysettlement.com by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time that day. Paper forms must be postmarked by the same date.

You need no receipts, documents, or mailed notice ID. You must certify eligibility with an attestation and e-signature: Opt-outs and objections share the Dec. 29 deadline. Filing a claim keeps you in the class for payment. Opting out preserves a separate legal claim but gives up settlement payment.

  • confirm U.S. location and GoodRx use before April 20, 2024
  • complete the claim form accurately
  • submit online before the nightly deadline or mail early enough for postmarking

How much payment could be

Each valid claim receives an equal pro-rata share of the net fund. The net fund is what remains after court-approved fees, costs, and administration. The per-person amount stays unknown until claims close.

A large number of claims lowers each payment. A smaller number raises it. This structure is separate from the earlier federal enforcement action, in which the Federal Trade Commission reported a $1.5 million civil penalty and limits on advertising-related sharing, described in the FTC case record. File before the December deadline if your use fits the class definition.
