Check your Google Play purchase dates and the legal address on your payments profile. If you paid for an app or in-app purchase through Google Play Billing in the covered years with a qualifying address, you are included.
This case is the state attorneys general antitrust case over Play Store app distribution and billing. Google agreed to pay $700 million to resolve those claims, with $630 million for consumers, according to Google's December 2023 announcement. The payment is cash, not Play credit.

Who qualifies for payment?
The covered purchases are apps bought through Google Play and in-app content bought through Google Play Billing. The purchase window is Aug. 16, 2016 through Sept.
30, 2023, according to the court long-form notice shared by the settlement administrator. Your payments-profile legal address must have been in a covered place at purchase time. Covered places are the 50 states, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Use this quick check:.
- Did you pay through Google Play or Google Play Billing in the date range?
- Was your Google payments-profile address in a covered state or territory then?
- Was it an app or in-app purchase, not hardware or another Google store?
Do you need to file a claim form?
Most eligible consumers do not file anything. The administrator uses Google account records to find qualifying purchases, according to the D.C. Attorney General notice.
That means your old receipts matter less than your account history. If your Google account still uses the same email and phone, watch those contacts. The exception is people the automatic system cannot pay. That includes people without PayPal or Venmo, people who lost the linked email or phone, and people who expected payment but got nothing.
How will automatic payment arrive?
Automatic payment arrives as cash after final court approval. PayPal users get an email notice tied to the email on the Play account. Venmo users get a text notice tied to the phone on the account.
Do not look for Play Store balance or a coupon code. This settlement does not add credit to your Google Play account. Check that your PayPal email and Venmo phone still work. Update them before notices go out if you changed addresses or numbers.
What are the key dates and status checks?
Preliminary approval came on Nov. 20, 2025. Notice emails and texts began Dec. 2, 2025. A final-approval hearing is set for April 30, 2026, and payments follow only if the court gives final approval.
A later supplemental process covers people who cannot receive automatic payment. Those consumers can register for email updates on the official settlement site. Check status only through GooglePlayStateAGAntitrustLitigation.com, email [email protected], or phone 1-866-905-8127. Payments are estimated at a minimum of $2 based on spending. Call 1-866-905-8127 if you are unsure which email is on file.
