What Is the Case About?
The settlement resolves claims that Tesla improperly charged Supercharger idle fees to customers who had free lifetime Supercharging, and disabled vehicle Supercharger access when those fees went unpaid. Tesla denies wrongdoing.
Who Qualifies?
California residents who received an eligible Tesla before December 16, 2016, kept ownership after that date, were California citizens as of June 21, 2021, and whose vehicles were designated “Supercharger Enabled,” “Supercharger Hardware,” or “Supercharger Hardware & Access.”
How Much Can You Get?
- A refund of all idle fees paid
- $50 if Supercharging was disabled for less than 30 days
- $350 if disabled 30+ consecutive days
- Supercharger access restoration and unpaid-fee waiver for current owners
- $10 for former owners
