Retail Class Action Settlement Deadlines to Watch This December

The December retail settlement calendar centers on five claim deadlines from December 1 to December 29, 2026. A class action settlement is a court-supervised agreement that pays eligible shoppers without a trial.

ClaimWell reports that Amazon Subclass B members must submit claims online or postmarked by December 1, 2026 at ReturnSettlement.com in the $309.5M deal covering In re: Amazon Return Policy Litigation (Amazon return-settlement claim details). CVS also reaches a court milestone on December 1, 2026. FinanceBuzz reports that the $20.5M digital-privacy case holds its final-approval hearing that day, after shopper claims closed November 16, 2026.

Which deadlines arrive first?

December opens with Amazon and CVS on December 1, then Starbucks on December 2. The official settlement administrator states that former Starbucks health- and vision-plan participants must mail COBRA-notice claims postmarked by December 2, 2026. There is no online form, so late or online-only filers get nothing.

The mid-December deadline belongs to The Container Store. The official settlement site states that qualifying claims must be filed by December 20, 2026. Kroger follows on December 21, then GoodRx closes the month on December 29.

Are you covered?

Recoup Hero reports that the Amazon class covers U.S. Amazon.com buyers from September 5, 2017 to February 12, 2026 with missing, late, short, or charged-back return refunds. Subclass A members are paid automatically without filing, while Subclass B members must file. Check notices and purchase records for return-refund gaps.

The Daily Overview reports that Kroger's $17M Kirkbride settlement covers people who paid with insurance at Kroger-owned pharmacies from December 9, 2018 through August 23, 2026. OpenClassActions reports that the $32M GoodRx and Criteo privacy settlement covers U.S. users of GoodRx websites, apps, Gold, HeyDoctor or Care before April 20, 2024. FinanceBuzz reports that the CVS case covers shoppers who used CVS sites or the app before July 27, 2026, limited to one claim per household.

How do you file correctly?

Filing method matters as much as the date. The Daily Overview reports that Kroger accepts online or postmarked claims by December 21, 2026. OpenClassActions reports that GoodRx online claims are due by 11:59 p.m.

ET on December 29, 2026, while mailed claims must carry that day's postmark (GoodRx privacy settlement filing rules). Starbucks requires paper mail, with no online option. The official settlement administrator ties eligibility to COBRA notices sent July 21, 2016 through January 1, 2023. Keep the mailed receipt and confirm a legible December 2 postmark.

What affects your payment amount?

Settlement size does not equal individual payment. The official settlement site states that The Container Store's $780,000 Massachusetts settlement pays $75 per qualifying purchase, subject to pro-rata reduction (Container Store settlement payment terms). That case covers legally blind buyers who tried to credit a loyalty account between July 20, 2011 and August 12, 2026.

Automatic payment applies only where the settlement says so. Recoup Hero reports that Amazon Subclass A members need no filing, while Subclass B members must act by December 1. Mail the Starbucks form early enough for a December 2 postmark because online submissions do not count.
