Only 158 people are in the Assa Abloy Washington job postings settlement, and the fund is built so that each one who files gets about the same amount, an estimated $1,588, no matter how many others file. The class is applicants for Washington jobs at Assa Abloy Entrance Systems and five related companies whose postings left out the pay range. Claims are due December 4, 2026.
Status: Claims open | Claim deadline December 4, 2026 (online or postmarked) | Opt out or object by December 4, 2026 | Estimated $1,588 each, capped at $5,000
The Pay Transparency Claim
Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, at RCW 49.58.110, requires job postings to disclose the wage scale or salary range and a general description of benefits and other compensation. The case, Spencer v. Assa Abloy Entrance Systems US Inc., et al., No. 25-2-21276-9 KNT, in King County Superior Court, claims the companies’ postings for Washington openings did not. The defendants deny the claims and say they did not violate any law.
Judge John McHale preliminarily approved the settlement on August 20, 2026, and authorized notice to the class. Final approval has not been granted yet.
Who Is in the Class
The class covers people who, from January 1, 2023 through July 26, 2025, completed an application for a Washington job opening with one or more of these companies:
- ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems US Inc.
- ASSA ABLOY Americas Residential Inc.
- AADG, Inc.
- ASSA ABLOY Level LLC
- LUXER Corporation
- Ameristar Perimeter Security USA Inc.
The application must have gone through a posting on the companies’ websites or an authorized third-party recruiting platform that did not include a wage scale or salary range. The defendants told the court there are 158 class members, identified from their own records. If you applied to Luxer or Ameristar rather than a company carrying the Assa Abloy name, you can still be in the class.
A Fund That Grows With Each Claim
Most settlements have a fixed pot, so every extra claimant shrinks everyone else’s check. This one moves the other way. The fund starts at $269,513 if 79 or fewer people claim, about half the class. For each additional claimant it grows by $1,588.45, up to a maximum of $395,000. The effect is to keep the per-person share roughly level as participation rises.
Several costs come out of the fund first, if the court approves them:
| Attorneys’ fees | Up to $116,525 |
| Costs | Up to $5,000 |
| Service award | Up to $10,000 |
| Administration | Up to $12,500 |
Under the agreement’s formula, and if those amounts are approved as requested, each claimant would receive about $1,588 once 79 or more class members claim. If fewer claim, shares are larger, up to a $5,000 cap per person. Anything above that cap goes to the Legal Foundation of Washington rather than to claimants or back to the defendants. Your own estimate is printed on the claim form sent with your notice. All of these are estimates until the court rules.
No Documents, but You Need the Login
No receipts, applications or screenshots are needed, because the class was identified from the defendants’ hiring records. Filing online does require the LoginID and PIN printed on the notice; the claim portal will not open without them. The paper claim form enclosed with the notice can be mailed or emailed to the administrator instead. The settlement website explains how to request a LoginID and PIN if you cannot find the notice. All claims are subject to verification.
The court-approved notice states that the defendants support the settlement and will not retaliate against any class member for participating, objecting or staying out, and that the decision will not affect any application for employment.

Filing and Getting Paid
File on the official Assa Abloy settlement website, run by Simpluris, Inc., using the LoginID and PIN from your notice. If your address or contact details change, update the administrator so the check reaches you.
If the settlement is approved, checks are mailed after any appeals and other reviews are complete. The notice says checks expire 180 days after they are issued. No payment date has been announced. Assa Abloy is one of several Washington job-posting settlements with claims open at the same time; the Assa Abloy page on OpenClassActions.com links to the others.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are part of the Assa Abloy settlement?
ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems US Inc., ASSA ABLOY Americas Residential Inc., AADG, Inc., ASSA ABLOY Level LLC, LUXER Corporation and Ameristar Perimeter Security USA Inc. Applying for a Washington job with any of them from January 1, 2023 through July 26, 2025 can qualify if the posting had no wage scale or salary range.
Why does the fund range from $269,513 to $395,000?
The total depends on how many class members file. The $269,513 minimum covers up to 79 claimants, about half the 158-person class, and the fund grows by $1,588.45 for each additional claimant up to $395,000, keeping the per-person share roughly the same.
Is there a cap on what one person can receive?
Yes, $5,000. If an equal share would exceed $5,000, the excess goes to the Legal Foundation of Washington instead of to claimants or back to the defendants.
Do I need proof that I applied?
No. Class members were identified from the defendants’ hiring records. Online filing needs the LoginID and PIN from your notice, and the paper claim form can be mailed or emailed instead.
Will filing a claim affect a future job application?
The court-approved notice states that the defendants will not retaliate against any class member for participating, objecting or staying out, and that the decision will not affect any application for employment.
