The Simplilearn video privacy settlement will pay each approved claimant an equal pro rata share of the net $3 million fund. There is no fixed amount, so each payment shrinks as more valid claims are approved. Pro rata means every valid claim gets the same slice of what remains after deductions.
Simplilearn Americas agreed to the $3 million deal to resolve claims it shared personally identifiable video records without consent, as reported by OpenClassActions in its October settlement summary. The claims invoke the Video Privacy Protection Act, which restricts disclosure of video request and watch history. Simplilearn denies wrongdoing.

Why no dollar figure is promised
No notice can list your payment in dollars. OpenClassActions reports the settlement promises only equal shares, so the total number of approved claims sets the per-person figure.
A small claimant pool leaves larger shares. A large turnout leaves smaller shares. That trade-off is normal for per-claim funds.
What comes out of the fund first
The $3 million is the starting point, not the payout pool. Notice and administration costs come out first, along with court-approved fees and awards. ClaimHub24 notes class counsel may seek up to 40% plus expenses, as detailed in its updated settlement breakdown.
The two class representatives may each seek up to $2,500 from the same fund, according to ClaimHub24. Those service awards further lower the net amount for pro rata distribution. Fee requests and service awards still need court approval. Claimants share only what remains after the court allows those deductions.
Do you qualify?
You qualify only if you meet the account, activity, and date tests described by OpenClassActions in its class eligibility summary. You must have been a U.S. account holder who watched at least one pre-recorded video between Feb.
26, 2023 and Sept. 16, 2026. Live-only use outside that activity test does not meet the standard. Meeting those tests still requires a timely valid claim.
- U.S. Simplilearn account holder
- Watched at least one pre-recorded video on the website, app, or learning portals
- Viewing occurred between Feb. 26, 2023 and Sept. 16, 2026
How do you file on time?
Valid claims must be filed online or postmarked by Dec. 15, 2026, according to ClaimHub24. The court granted preliminary approval Sept.
16, 2026 and set final approval for Jan. 26, 2027. Late or invalid claims receive nothing. Use the Claim ID and PIN from your notice to submit your payment choice before the deadline.
