The Frontier settlement pays eligible 401(k) investors from a $14,050,000 Qualified Settlement Fund, a court-supervised payout pool, after court-approved deductions, according to the Official Frontier ERISA Settlement website settlement fund details. Current plan holders receive a deposit to that account, while others receive a mailed check unless they elect rollover. The case involves the Frontier 401(k) Savings Plan and Verizon common stock, including the Verizon Stock Fund. The lawsuit alleges Frontier breached duties of prudence and diversification by leaving the plan overconcentrated in telecom stocks, especially Verizon stock gained through acquisitions.

Who qualifies for payment?
Eligible payees are vested Frontier 401(k) Savings Plan participants, plus beneficiaries and alternate payees, whose accounts included Verizon common stock. Coverage includes holders of the Verizon Stock Fund. The class period is Dec.
12, 2012 through Apr. 30, 2018 for people who invested in the Verizon Stock Fund, as described in the court-approved settlement notice. Only investment in that fund during that window counts toward a share.
- vested participant with Verizon stock in a Frontier 401(k) account
- beneficiary of such a participant
- alternate payee tied to such an account
How is each share figured?
Each share comes from the Plan of Allocation. The formula uses the claimant's Verizon Stock Fund investment during the class period. The preliminary-approval order found that method fair and reasonable.
The result is not a flat check for every name on the list. The net fund goes only to eligible members after fees, administration costs and case awards. People with no qualifying holdings receive nothing.
How will the money arrive?
People who still hold a plan account generally receive a deposit to that account. People without an account receive a mailed check, unless they timely elect rollover to another tax-qualified account, as explained on the Official Frontier ERISA Settlement website payment and rollover information. Postcard notices were mailed Oct.
9, 2026. A rollover election must be submitted on the Rollover Form by Dec. 8, 2026.
- still have a Frontier plan account: payment goes into that account
- no plan account: watch mail for a check
- want rollover instead of a check: submit the Rollover Form on time
When are payments final?
No payment is final before the fairness hearing and appeals are resolved. The hearing is set for Jan. 7, 2027 in Hartford, according to Law360 reporting hearing schedule coverage.
Amounts and timing can change based on the judge's final rulings and any appeal. That delay also controls deductions and the final net fund. A reader should keep the mailing address and plan records current until distribution is complete.
