No Cash App fraud settlement payout check is confirmed as payable today. The $15 million settlement is finally approved, but approved claims will be paid "in the coming months." Eligibility is limited to people who submitted timely, valid claims before the deadline. New claims and late forms are no longer accepted.

When will approved claims be paid?
The official Cash App Security Settlement update says approved claims will be paid in the coming months. It does not provide a specific payment date or say checks are currently payable.
Claimants should treat messages promising an immediate payment with caution. A message demanding another claim form cannot reopen the settlement deadline.
Who qualified for the settlement?
The settlement class—the group covered by the case—included current and former Cash App or Cash App Investing customers affected between August 23, 2018, and August 20, 2024. Covered problems included: Experiencing one of these problems was not enough by itself.
According to the settlement administrator's eligibility FAQs, only people who filed timely, valid claims can receive class-action payments. The filing deadline was November 18, 2024. Someone who missed it cannot establish eligibility today by showing that fraud occurred.
- Unauthorized access to personal information or accounts
- Unauthorized or fraudulent transfers
- Deficient handling of account-error reports
What compensation could a valid claim include?
Approved claimants could request up to $2,500 for documented out-of-pocket losses. These claims required supporting documentation. The settlement also allowed claims for documented transaction losses.
In addition, claimants could seek compensation for up to three hours of lost time at $25 per hour. These categories set potential reimbursement limits, not guaranteed payment amounts. Approval also depends on whether the submitted claim and documentation satisfied the settlement requirements.
Will approved claimants receive everything requested?
Not necessarily. Attorney fees, settlement administration expenses, and service awards are paid from the fund before individual claims. If the money remaining cannot cover all valid claims, payments may be reduced proportionally.
For example, an approved $2,500 loss claim does not guarantee a $2,500 payout. Claimants who filed before the deadline can now wait for the administrator's payment process. People who did not file should not pay anyone claiming they can submit a late settlement form.
Could separate CFPB redress apply?
The class-action settlement is separate from a Consumer Financial Protection Bureau enforcement order against block, Cash App's operator. The CFPB order requires at least $75 million—and potentially up to $120 million—in consumer redress. That program does not cover every Cash App fraud victim.
It targets qualifying consumers whose unauthorized transfers were not properly investigated or refunded, or whose accounts were improperly locked or denied provisional credit. Consumers did not need to take action when the order was announced. For current redress information, the CFPB's Block enforcement page directs consumers to call Block at 1-888-488-1181 or email [email protected].
