Norton Healthcare has agreed to an $11 million class action settlement after the ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware gang attacked its systems on or around May 9, 2023, exposing the personal and medical information of approximately 2.5 million current and former patients and employees. What Happened?

On or around May 9, 2023, the ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware gang attacked Norton Healthcare’s systems, one of the largest healthcare providers in the Louisville, Kentucky area. The breach exposed personal and medical information of approximately 2.5 million patients and employees. The case is styled Abby Berthold, et al. v. Norton Healthcare, Inc., et al., filed in Jefferson Circuit Court in Louisville, Kentucky. Norton Healthcare denies wrongdoing.

Who Is Eligible?

Current and former Norton Healthcare patients and employees whose personal information was exposed in the May 2023 ransomware attack and who received a data breach notice.
