GoodRx Data Privacy Settlement: Pharmacy Customer Claim Eligibility

You are eligible if you are a natural person in the United States who used any website, app or service made available by or through GoodRx Holdings Inc. at any time prior to April 20, 2024. Pharmacy customers meet that test when they used GoodRx to look up prices, get a coupon or manage a prescription.

The case is Doe v. GoodRx Holdings, No. 4:23-cv-00501-AMO in federal court in California. According to the Lowey Dannenberg and Bursor Fisher settlement notice in its proposed settlement announcement, the class covers that broad use period and was resolved with GoodRx plus Criteo for $32 million.

Did your pharmacy use qualify?

Any consumer GoodRx use before the cutoff can qualify. That includes searching a drug price on the site, using the mobile app or filling with a GoodRx coupon at the counter. The key is use of a GoodRx website, app or service, not the pharmacy where you paid.

The claims follow earlier federal privacy action. The Federal Trade Commission said GoodRx shared prescription, health-condition and identifier data with advertising partners without authorization. That underlying dispute involved tracking tools that allegedly disclosed user information without consent.

Who is excluded?

Businesses do not qualify because the class is limited to natural persons. A pharmacy, clinic or other company cannot claim even if staff used GoodRx for work. Other exclusions are narrow but final.

According to the federal court in its preliminary-approval order, defendants, affiliates, officers and directors, Meta, Google, assigned judges and clerks, and people who validly opt out are excluded. If you are an individual consumer and did not opt out, you remain in the group. Location and timing control the rest: United States location and use before April 20, 2024.

How do pharmacy customers file?

The settlement notice says eligible people must submit online at goodrxprivacysettlement.com by 11:59 p.m. ET Dec. 29, 2026, or mail a form postmarked by that date.

File once with current contact details and a payment choice. You do not need pharmacy receipts or proof of a prescription. According to OpenClassActions in its settlement tracker, the online form uses contact information, payment choice and a signed attestation, with Unique ID and PIN optional.

  • Confirm United States residence and GoodRx use before April 20, 2024.
  • Enter contact details and select payment method.
  • Sign the attestation and submit before the deadline.

What payment should you expect?

Do not expect a fixed dollar amount. Payments are pro-rata after fees and costs, so the amount depends on valid claims and court-approved deductions. Timing also matters for planning.

According to HIPAA Journal in its October settlement report, the deal had only preliminary approval on Sept. 8, 2026, with a final approval hearing set for Feb. 11, 2027. No individual payment is guaranteed until that process ends.
