Most people in the Cozy Earth discount settlement will get their $35 without lifting a finger — but only if it can find them, because the store credit is delivered by email and nothing else. An Oregon court granted final approval on August 18, 2026. California and Oregon shoppers who used an advertised discount on cozyearth.com are due a $35 Credit Voucher automatically, and those who filed a claim by July 20, 2026 get $35 in cash instead. Nothing has been sent yet.
Status: Final approval granted August 18, 2026; awards pending | Cash claim deadline passed July 20, 2026 | $35 voucher automatic, by email | Due within 30 days after the Effective Date
The Case in Oregon
The settlement resolves Chahal et al. v. Cozy Earth Holdings, Inc., Case No. 26CV07895, in the Circuit Court of the State of Oregon for Multnomah County. The lawsuit claims that Cozy Earth Holdings, Inc. deceptively advertised discounts on products sold through cozyearth.com, in violation of consumer protection laws. Cozy Earth denies all of the allegations, any wrongdoing and any liability, and no court has found otherwise. According to the notice, it agreed to settle to avoid the cost and burden of litigation.

Two Windows, Two States
The Settlement Class covers anyone who bought one or more products using a discount advertised on cozyearth.com:
- While in California, between June 16, 2021 and October 30, 2025.
- While in Oregon, between June 24, 2023 and November 2, 2025.
Shoppers who never used an advertised discount and paid list price for everything are not in the class. Also excluded are people who opted out by June 22, 2026, Cozy Earth and its affiliates, counsel, the judge and court staff, and anyone who already signed a release with Cozy Earth over the same advertising.
Voucher or Cash: One $35 Award Each
| $35 Credit Voucher | Store credit sent by email, with no claim form. Everyone in the class who did not choose cash receives this. |
| $35 cash | Paid by check or electronic payment, only to class members who submitted a valid claim form by July 20, 2026. |
The award is a flat $35 per class member, not per order. It is not reduced by attorneys’ fees: the notice says Cozy Earth pays the fees, any service awards and the notice and administration costs — estimated at $45,000 — separately from the $35 awards.
The cash option required only a signed claim form attesting, under penalty of perjury, to buying items with an advertised cozyearth.com discount while in California or Oregon during the class period. The notice did not call for receipts or order records.
How the Voucher Works
According to the notice, the Credit Voucher:
- Can be used on any product on cozyearth.com
- Can be combined with other discounts and promotions
- Has no blackout dates
- Stays valid for two years after it is distributed
If an order comes to less than $35, including any taxes, the leftover balance can be requested through Cozy Earth customer service.
Making Sure the Email Reaches You
Because the voucher is delivered only by email, the practical risk is not eligibility but delivery. The notice asked class members who were notified by mail to give the administrator an email address by July 20, 2026. A few steps help:
- Watch the inbox, spam and promotions folders of the email address you used for cozyearth.com orders, for a message from the settlement administrator or Cozy Earth once distribution begins.
- If you are not sure the administrator has a working address for you, or you have changed emails, reach out through the contact page on the official settlement website, Product Discount Settlement.
- Cash claimants who have moved since filing should update their details through the same website.
When Awards Go Out
Under the settlement agreement, the $35 cash payments and Credit Vouchers go out within 30 days after the Effective Date. That date generally follows the end of the period to appeal the August 18, 2026 judgment, or the resolution of any appeal, so the timing depends on whether anyone appeals. No calendar distribution date had been published as of September 25, 2026.
Not the Same as the Luby Case
An earlier, separate discount case, Luby v. Cozy Earth Holdings, Inc., was removed from Orange County Superior Court to the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California (No. 8:24-cv-02725) and voluntarily dismissed with prejudice on May 15, 2025. It is not part of this settlement. Our sister site covers both cases on its Cozy Earth discount settlement page.
