Did your notice make you eligible?

You qualify if you are a living U.S. resident whose private information was compromised in the May 2025 data incident. Receipt of a breach notice places you in the group. Keep that postcard because it holds your Class Member ID.

The defendants are Covenant Health Inc., St. Joseph Healthcare Foundation, and the St. Joseph hospitals in Bangor and Nashua. The case does not require current patient status. It requires compromised information tied to this incident.

What do the two cash payments cover?

You can seek Cash Payment A of up to $5,000 for documented, unreimbursed losses caused by the incident. ClaimBee lists both options in its Covenant Health payment breakdown. Examples include bank fees, identity-theft costs, or credit expenses you paid yourself and can prove. You can also seek Cash Payment B, an estimated $75 pro rata cash payment.

Pro rata means the fund is shared proportionally, so the amount rises or falls with claim numbers. You may claim A and B together. Class members also receive a code for two years of credit monitoring without filing a cash claim. Enrollment opens only after final approval and effectiveness. That benefit is separate from cash.

How do you file on time?

To receive cash, file online by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Dec. 30, 2026 using the Class Member ID from the postcard.

Paper forms must be postmarked that day to Kroll in New York. File once with complete proof. Missing documents can delay or reduce Payment A. Keep copies of what you send.

  • Find your postcard and copy your Class Member ID exactly.
  • Choose Cash Payment A, Cash Payment B, or both.
  • Attach proof for Payment A, such as receipts or statements showing unreimbursed loss.
  • Submit online before the deadline, or mail the paper form with a Dec. 30 postmark.

When will money and monitoring arrive?

Maine Superior Court Justice Bruce C. Mallonee granted preliminary approval on Sept. 15, 2026 in In re Covenant Health Data Security Litigation No. PENSC-CV-2025-63.

A final-approval hearing is expected in 2027, with no payment date set. Cash amounts can increase or decrease pro rata and are not guaranteed. Covenant Health settled without admitting liability or wrongdoing, as stated in the filed settlement agreement. Wait for final approval before expecting monitoring codes or checks.
