What Is the Case About?
Google agreed to pay $8.25 million to resolve allegations that it collected personal information from children under 13 through Google Play apps and used that data for behavioral advertising, in violation of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and state privacy laws. Google denies wrongdoing.
Who Qualifies?
U.S. residents who were under 13 when they downloaded or used Google Play applications between April 1, 2015 and the present. No documentation is required — claimants attest under oath to eligibility. Parents or guardians must file for claimants under 18 as of May 2026.
