The lawsuit alleged that the Los Angeles Times installed three third-party tracking technologies — TripleLift, GumGum, and Audiencerate trackers — on visitors’ browsers without their knowledge or consent, violating the California Invasion of Privacy Act. Who Is Eligible?
Any person who accessed LATimes.com or the LA Times mobile app while physically located in California at any point between January 31, 2023 and December 19, 2025. No paid subscription is required — any visitor qualifies.
How Much Can You Receive?
Individual payments are estimated at approximately $5.00 per class member on a pro rata basis, varying by the total number of valid claims filed. Payments can be received by check, PayPal, or Venmo.
