Centrelake Medical Group, which operates 8 medical imaging and oncology centers in California, has reached a class action settlement following a ransomware attack in February 2019 that exposed the personal and medical information of 197,661 patients. What Happened?
In February 2019, Centrelake Medical Group suffered a ransomware attack. Hackers had access to patient systems from January 9 to February 19, 2019, potentially obtaining names, phone numbers, addresses, Social Security numbers, health insurance information, diagnoses, medical record numbers, and driver’s license numbers. Centrelake denies all wrongdoing but agreed to settle.
Who Is Eligible?
Patients who had a California address and received a data incident notification letter from Centrelake around April 16, 2019.
