Bayhealth Medical Center Data Breach Settlement
Bayhealth Medical Center has reached a $2.5 million class action settlement (Dunlop, et al. v. Bayhealth Medical Center, Inc.) following a cyberattack detected July 31, 2024 that allowed unauthorized access to Bayhealth’s network from July 27-31, compromising the personal and medical information of approximately 497,047 patients. Affected individuals may file a claim by April 20, 2026.
What Happened?
Bayhealth Medical Center experienced a cyberattack in late July 2024 that resulted in the exfiltration of files containing sensitive patient information, including names, medical information, and Social Security numbers. The unauthorized access occurred between July 27 and July 31, 2024. The lawsuit alleges Bayhealth failed to implement reasonable data security measures to protect patient records.

You may be eligible if you are a U.S. resident who was notified by Bayhealth Medical Center that your personal information may have been compromised in the July 2024 data breach.
