Affected individuals may file a claim by April 20, 2026.
What Is This Case About?
The lawsuit alleges that Northwell Health embedded tracking technologies on its public website and patient portal that collected and transmitted sensitive patient information — including health conditions searched, appointments booked, and portal activity — to third-party advertising platforms like Meta (Facebook) and Google without patients’ knowledge or consent.
Who Is Eligible?
There are two eligible subclasses:
- Subclass 1: Northwell patients who logged into the FollowMyHealth patient portal OR booked an appointment on Northwell’s website between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2023
- Subclass 2: Northwell patients between January 1, 2020 and July 25, 2024 who are not in Subclass 1

- Subclass 1: $15 cash payment plus a 12-month CyEx Privacy Shield Pro subscription
- Subclass 2: 12-month CyEx Privacy Shield Pro subscription (no cash payment)
