Highline School District No. 401 has reached a $650,000 class action settlement (Solis v. Highline School District No. 401) following a September 2024 cyberattack that exposed the personal information of approximately 94,102 current and former students and employees. The district has also committed over $200,000 to data security improvements. Affected individuals may file a claim by April 20, 2026.
What Happened?
Highline School District experienced a cyberattack on or around September 7, 2024 that compromised the personal information of students, staff, and other individuals associated with the district. The lawsuit alleged negligence, violation of the Washington Data Breach Disclosure Law, unjust enrichment, breach of implied contract, and invasion of privacy.

You may be eligible if you are a U.S. resident who received notice from Highline School District that your information may have been compromised in the September 2024 cyberattack.
What Benefits Are Available?
Eligible class members may receive:
- Up to $5,000 for documented out-of-pocket losses
- A pro-rata cash payment from remaining settlement funds
