Garnet Health Patient Portal Privacy Class Action Settlement — Claim Deadline April 16, 2026

Garnet Health Patient Portal Privacy Settlement

Garnet Health, a three-campus health system in Middletown, New York, has reached a class action settlement (Gay et al. v. Garnet Health) over allegations that it placed Meta Pixel and Google Analytics tracking tools on its website and MyChart patient portal, transmitting patients’ personally identifiable information and protected health information to Meta/Facebook and Google without consent. Affected patients may file a claim by April 16, 2026.

What Is This Case About?

The lawsuit alleges that Garnet Health embedded tracking pixels on its public website and MyChart patient portal that collected and transmitted sensitive patient data — including health conditions, appointment details, and portal activity — to third-party advertising companies like Meta and Google without patients’ knowledge or consent, violating privacy rights.

Who Is Eligible?

You may be eligible if you were a Garnet Health patient who had a MyChart account at any time between May 7, 2020 and August 10, 2023. Approximately 153,000 people are covered.

What Benefits Are Available?

Eligible class members will receive:

  • $19.50 cash payment (no proof required)
  • One year of Dashlane Premium (dark web monitoring, VPN, phishing protection)

As injunctive relief, Garnet Health has agreed to cease use of third-party digital analytics on its website for at least two years.
