American National Bank Data Breach Settlement — Up to $4,500 for Affected Customers

American National Bank & Trust has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit arising from a January 2025 data breach that exposed sensitive customer information. What Happened in the American National Bank Breach?

On January 21–22, 2025, cybercriminals gained unauthorized access to American National Bank & Trust systems, compromising personal information of customers including names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account information, and in some cases medical information. The bank notified affected individuals by mail.

Who Is Eligible to File?

You are eligible if you received a data breach notification letter from American National Bank & Trust informing you that your personal information was compromised in the January 2025 incident. You must be a U.S. resident to participate in the settlement.

What Compensation Can You Receive?

The settlement offers: (1) up to $4,500 for documented out-of-pocket losses such as identity theft expenses, fraud charges, or credit monitoring costs; (2) up to 3 hours of attested lost time at $25/hour; or (3) a $50 flat cash payment with no documentation required. All eligible claimants also receive one year of three-bureau credit monitoring at no cost.
