California residents who purchased a Belkin power bank between January 2, 2016 and April 16, 2024 may be eligible for a $5 voucher or $2 cash payment from a class action settlement over allegedly deceptive mAh advertising.
Claim Deadline: March 30, 2026 | No Proof Required for Some Claimants
What is the Belkin Power Bank Class Action About?
This class action settlement resolves claims that Belkin breached warranty by how it advertised milliampere-hour (mAh) ratings on power bank packaging and advertisements. The lawsuit alleges the mAh figure referred to the internal battery size, not the actual amount of power the device could deliver to users.
Belkin denies any wrongdoing. The Court has not ruled that Belkin did anything wrong. This is a proposed settlement that requires final Court approval.
Who Qualifies for the Belkin Settlement?
You may qualify if you:
- Purchased any Belkin power bank
- Were located in California at the time of purchase
- Made the purchase between January 2, 2016 and April 16, 2024
Certain people are excluded, including Belkin officers, directors, employees, and related parties listed in the official notice.
How Much Can You Get Paid?
Eligible class members can receive one of the following:
- $5 Voucher – Usable toward a single transaction on Belkin’s website (valid up to one year from issuance)
- $2 Cash Payment – If you request the exchange option instead of the voucher
Note: You may submit only one claim, regardless of how many Belkin power banks you purchased during the class period.
How to File a Claim
How you receive benefits depends on whether you received a notice with a Unique ID:
If You Received a Notice with a Unique ID:
- You do not need to submit a claim to receive the $5 voucher
- If you want $2 cash instead, submit an Exchange Request on the settlement website
If You Did NOT Receive a Notice:
- You must submit a Claim Form online or by mail by March 30, 2026
- You may need to provide proof of purchase
Important Dates
- Claim Form Deadline: March 30, 2026
- Objection Deadline: March 30, 2026
- Final Approval Hearing: June 12, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. (Los Angeles Superior Court)
Is Proof of Purchase Required?
If you received a Notice with a Unique ID and PIN: No proof of purchase is required. The administrator already has purchase data linked to your notice.
If you did NOT receive a Notice: You are generally not required to upload receipts, but you must confirm you purchased an eligible Belkin power bank in California during the class period. The administrator may request proof of purchase later.
When Will Payments Be Issued?
Vouchers and cash payments will be issued after:
- The Court grants final approval of the settlement
- Any appeals are resolved
What Are My Options?
- Submit a Claim: File a claim form (if required) or submit an exchange request if you want cash instead of a voucher
- Do Nothing: If you don’t have a Unique ID and do nothing, you won’t receive benefits but will still be bound by the settlement release (if approved)
- Object: Submit a written objection by March 30, 2026 if you disagree with the settlement
How to Object
You may object by sending a written objection postmarked by March 30, 2026 to the settlement administrator at the address listed in the official notice. If you object, you may also ask to speak at the final approval hearing on June 12, 2026.
