What is the $30M YouTube Privacy Settlement About?

This class action settlement resolves claims that Google and YouTube violated children’s privacy by collecting personal information from minors under 13 without parental consent. The lawsuit alleges YouTube used tracking technologies to collect data from children watching child-directed content, which was then used for targeted advertising.

Google and YouTube deny any wrongdoing. The Court has not ruled that Google or YouTube did anything wrong. This is a settlement that requires final Court approval.
